girl reading a book to become a writer

STORYTELLING

This is an interactive story-telling session where children create new stories together in a game setting. This is aimed at enhancing their thinking skills, widening their vocabulary, and helping them learn how to weave together a story that is comprehensible.

KIDDIE CONTENT

In the process of reading regularly, we expect the children to develop a capacity for creating new stories that can be compiled and published as their own original content.

This is an annual event that brings together creativity from children in different schools, backgrounds, and locations. The aim of the competition is to nurture creativity at an early stage by providing a platform where the writing skill is recognized and rewarded. Children are encouraged to write short stories and submit them through their respective schools. The shortlisted entries will thereafter be handed in to carefully chosen judges who will evaluate them using specific criteria and come up with the best three winners for the annual award.

The event runs from May to August each year.

There are 2 submission categories:

A. Junior: Grades 4 – 6

B. Senior: Grades 7- 9 and Grade 10

These are one and two hour, online training sessions during the school holidays, geared towards sharpening the skills of children gifted in writing. These creative writing classes are taught by experienced and published writers who are passionate about equipping the younger generation with skills necessary for future success. Each session is packed with practical guides, exercises and examples that are relevant to the children.

Parents can register their children for a chosen number of sessions at the beginning of each school holiday. The training is very flexible, in that a child can take any number of sessions according to their need. The training is child-centered, structured to their individual need and capacity rather than moving together in one group.

First intake: November 2026
